  1. I still play my old games too.

In fact, I still have yet to finish BG2. LOL!

That enhanced version sounds cool, but I dunno if I can go through that first chapter in BG2 again. It was great the first time, but by the fourth time, it gets very tedious to go through.

  2. Hi all. I am making a mod at the current time and as the title suggests, it is of a journey to Aetherius, the plane of the Nine Divines. There will be quests, weapons, armor, etc.. i am just wondering, Should i use Shivering Ilse content in the mod. i feel that this would increase the quality, but decrease the audience.

Also, semi-spoiler: i am trying to come up with npcs to act as the divines. there will also be an opportunity to become a divine.

    any comments/feedback will be appreciated

Yeah, use it. Most everyone that plays Oblivion will more than likely have SI than those that do not.

Sounds like a cool idea. Good luck with it.

  3. Hello everybody,

I'm looking for a mod that allows to place multiple markers on the map, even though you are not on the spot to do that (i.e: I want be able place markers near Skingrad even though I'm in Cyrodil) - in this way, I can better keep track of all pending quests.

Do you know any mod that allows to make this?

    Map Marker Overhaul by TheNiceOne

    btw, Skingrad is in Cyrodiil

  4. I'm running the game on Ultra settings (minus Uber Sampling) and resolution of 1920 x 1080 with no problems at all. I have 16gb of ram and run a nvidia GTX460 on a i7 quad core processor, so the equipment isn't the issue. However, I am seeing occasional face textures that look like the skin is made of tan terry or sack cloth. Not all the time mind you, just on sometimes. Anyone know the cause/fix?

EDIT: Looks like it's not just on faces. I have seen a few plants and ground areas that have that cloth-like patch on them.

  5. Long ago, there was a mod on which had an black knight armor, evilish look, something like this but now I can't find it

    Help please :D

I've got a red x for your picture. Try to post it again?

  6. I'm a long time member of the Bethesda's Oblivion Mods forum and have never really followed this one before now. But somehow I found myself here and reading this thread from beginning to end. Though I've been gaming since gaming began and been a mod user for years, I've never made a mod and likely never will.

I have a great deal of respect for many mod makers (not all), and dearly appreciate what they so generously provide for my gaming enjoyment. However, there is an often repeated position taken by some mod makers that I have a hard time sympathizing with.

It's the “Mod makers don't owe mod users anything”. Or approached from a different angle “I mod for myself, not for others”.

Now it's not that I find this position totally with out merit, It's just that it seems lacking the basic consideration and empathy required of harmonious interaction with others. Or as the saying goes “Courtesy is the grease that lubricates the wheels of society”.

All of which brings me around to stating my support, agreement, and admiration for Mr. Brasher's position on the matter.

I wasn't going to respond to this at first, but since I'm one of the ones that says "I mod for myself, not for others," I feel the need to interject what I should have also stated. And that is:

If a modder truly cares about their own mod, regardless of reason for producing such a mod, it will show, and they will take care of it.

And I'm sure you can sympathize with that.

And let's be honest here, there is always a reason a modder makes a mod that includes something for themselves. You're fooling yourself to say so otherwise.

  7. I don't have any plans for Skyrim atm, especially since Skyrim is absent from my current collection anyways. I will eventually get it though. When I do, I'll do a few equipment imports from Oblivion, or probably modifications of what's available for Skyrim will be first.

For Oblivion, I'm thinking of releasing a few private mods I have, one that's a more interactive experience with the Akatosh Dragons. The other big project I wanted to do was a huge new worldspaced Castle Crawl. Where you have from grounds, room to room, underground dungeon maze, all the way to the top of the main spire where you have to face the lord of the castle. Sort of like a Castlevania type thing. BUt in order to do so, you have to face several unique bosses and subbosses at each place.

However, I'm not sure if those plans will ever come about. /shrug

  8. I'm looking for a very special set of mods.

    BUSINESS MODS!

I know of the excellent Trade and Commerce mod (I plan on adding that to my load order soon)

    What else is there?

I'm looking for something in the lines of...

    -Skooma Production

    -Smuggling

    -Any business management type sim.

    -Things like that.

Best answer gets a kudos and a big hug.

The best one I can think of atm is:

    Pat's Business Mod Shop

Also, theres: http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=31979 but I haven't heard much about it.

  9. I think one of the biggest problems with these low quality mods is that the authors usually just dump them on the file upload and never look at them again. That's one thing I never understood. Why take the time to upload a mod you'd never take care of? I can completely understand time constraints, and usually those that have time constraints will actually state that in the description/readme.
  10. IIRC, Pr-tty Cure Hairset does not have Amy hair. The only Amy hair I can think of can be found from Yukisuke's blog entry.

    hmmm

    *checks*

You are indeed correct, its in the KumaKumaKuma set.

I know for a fact this hair set is included with the Desuchan's dolls...which I suddenly can't find.

    ...

*fights with the search function for a while*

...well thats interesting, Desuchan changed her name, and the name of the mod. Its now MisAniThrope's Dolls.

Er, yeah. Sorry about that. Didn't like people thinking I was a weeb.

    a what?

  11.

    (3) Think about the gamers while doing the work. Think about how they will look at the mod and how they will play it. Make it in such a fashion that they won't have cause to complain.

On this particular point: sorry David, but I mod for myself, not for other gamers. I only release my stuff when people ask me to release it or if I feel someone might remotely enjoy it.

  12.

Yeah I actually found V1 on a russian site a few days ago lol. Theres no big difference between this and v2 except for the colors and a few tweaks with a few skills and no cool looking gunslinger guns But I think I kind of like V2 with how clean it looks and the Quicksilver and snatch skills. I just wish there was a way to fuse them so I could have gunslinger in it and get rid of the annoying big red vapor you get from exceed in V2.

    Edit: Actually this persons looks like a custom version because V1 didnt have quicksilver when i was using it and it also looks like she has some other tweaks done to it unless I was using it wrong ._.;;

On-Topic can anybody tell me where to find the scythe in the first picture as well as the weapons on the girls back in the other picture and the armor in the third picture?

Isn't the transparent guy that pops up above you different in v2 as well?

    On your "whereis":

    1. Unsure, but I've seen it before with some black armor.

    2. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4273

    3. Possibly: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39701

  13. For as long as I can remember I have been using these two mods: No Persistent Enchantment Glow Fix (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1843) and No Glow A Go Go (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4987). But recently I decided I wanted to play Oblivion with the glow effects but even after deactivating the mods, my enchanted armor and weapons still don't glow aside from an initial glow effect that only occurs for enchanted armors or jewelry. Was this effect officially removed in a patch since I first played Oblivion on its release?

I don't remember the glow mod I use, but it was a no esp mod. It did this by adding some data files that did all the work. You might have to look at each of mod's data files you used to remove the glow and see what it puts into your install and then delete them from your data files.

  14. Was there anyone that recognized the body mod?

I don't think it's HGEC since it looks too skinny... or maybe it's just the angle?

HGEC A or AA cup, S bottom.

Fairly rare, you'll mostly find it in individual armor mods and the like.

Thanks for the answer. I wasn't sure if it was HGEC or what. Do you happen to know any of those armors that that type would be on? :ohdear:

    Hi

I'm looking for a mod that will show the direction someone hit me from.

Sometimes I find myself being attacked but I have no idea from what direction I was hit, and where I shall start to search for the attacker.

Another mod I'm searching for is a mod that show what damage I'm doing to the enemy.

    Thanks for any help

No idea on the attack direction mod, but Scathe might be a mod you'd want to show damage numbers. Just be aware it bugs out occassional and leaves numbers "stuck" on screen, but they disappear after awhile.

or you can try http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40940 open up config menu and switch to display mode 2.

Oh yeah, I always forget about that one.
