  2. You wouldn't have to reinstall skyre just to add a patch? I didn't even know there was a patch for SkyRe and frostfall, I use the two together all the time.

     

    Patches just 'overlay' new things onto the old, installing a patch should NEVER corrupt a save or a game, that is the point of a patch.

  3. SIS is very simple, that's why I like it. Just select an install and click 'activate'. You can also easily create a vanilla install to try out JUST one mod, as well as copy an install to try slightly different installs. For example, you could copy your main install, install SkyRe, if you don't like it, delete the copied install, and it's like it never happened.

     

    Honestly next to BOSS< it's one of the easiest tools to use, and great for testing stuff, and once you master it, you can even set up entire installs for each of your characters. (as long as you have less then 10)

    Does anyone know of a mod that lets me jot down notes IN GAME? it's useless if I have to exit the game, then jot something down, then pull the game back up, it's more 'immersive' just to keep a notepad and pencil next to my computer. I've tried searching but 'Note' and 'book' and 'journal' all turn up duds.

     

    I found one mod that is close, but I have to exit the game, launch some weird program, then relaunch the game to make changes. Useless, considering I would have to jot down the info I want to copy on a notepad in the first place!

     

    Personal Notebook might work for you (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8892). I myself haven't used it so I can't give an opinion on it.

    That was actually the mod I was talking about, you have to exit the game, launch some weird program, save a file, and launch the game again to make changes to it, and I would have to write down the info ona piece of paper in real life just to remember it, totally and completely defeating the point of what I need it for, essentially jotting down of important info on locations and bits and bops I need to pick up fro crafting.

     

    This has to be possible, if it doesn't exist, I make look into making it, just to have it.

  5. I dislike wrye bash, it does weird s#*&#33; I don't like and like NMM is way to glitchy and inconsistent, I'm a manual modder through and through. ^_^ And that is a good example as to why.

     

    I use BOSS, because it's just totally amazing, and never does stupid stuff (besides not recognizing some of my mods, but that's not it's fault - better then having to arrange ALL of them by hand)

     

    BOSS never deactivates mods though.

     

    This really confuses me though, I can't think of any reason an ESP should repeatedly deactivate itself.

     

    Only one thing that comes to mind is, instead of moving my mods up and down in the manual launcher to change my L/O I change the 'plugins.txt' and I've noticed that there is a blank line at the end, if I where to accidentally delete this blank line, could it deactivate the very last .esp? Oddly, I always go and check in the manual launcher that nothing weird happened to my load order after editing the plugins.txt, so it would have to be a delayed reaction....

  6. This is one of my L/O (the one I am currently using) I use SIS to have multiple installs, but since Tropical Skyrim game out I haven't been using the others. I use SkyRe, Dance of Death, Lanterns of Skyrim, Extended Cities, plenty of magic addition mods etc.

     

    I use Superb ENB RL which looks amazing with tropical skyrim.

     

    I have close to 150 mods, and I have almost no CTDs, and minimal lag (My system is great though)

     

    I use a LOT of ini tweaks though.(mostly shadow stuff, and stuff for my ENB) I suppose I could show you those as well?

  7. I have about 20 gigs of texture mods in one install and about 15 in another, and I have no issues, but I am using a pretty high end machine (not top of the line - but any higher end would just be a waste of money)

     

    All in all my data folder is about 45 gigs.

     

    I have 16 gigs of RAM, and I set iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=8000000000 (1=2, 4=8, 8=16, etc.) and this let my computer handle lots of textures with no lag at all.

     

    Oddly I don't see many people making this suggestion, but it works wonders for the occasional slight lag you can't get around even for high end machines.

  9. I would love a better cities mod, Expanded Cities and similar mods are already, but they just don't change enough, most of them just add in silly novelty things that are kinda interesting the first time you look at them.

  10. I'm really baffled by this, in the smelter menu, ingot - dwarven/dwemer doesn't even show up period, I have lots of different bits of dwemer scrap. This is very, very, very game breaking, since there is no other way to get dwemer ingots, other then the one ruin which has about 15 stacked together in it (and that's just the one source one time) I am playing as a character he specializes in dwemer things, so this is far more then just a small annoyance. Before you ask, YES have a the dwarven smithing perk, in fact I thought this was the issue at first, but it changed NOTHING. (well, at least not in the smelter)

     

    I checked the forge very thoroughly, and they have not been moved there for some odd reason either.

     

    Oddly, when checking the tanning rack, I had the first CTD I've had with this install of skyrim, as if I wasn't already annoyed enough!

  11. This is very annoying, I don't know what causes it, but about half the time when I check my L/O to add a new mod, this mod has unchecked itself. It doesn't always do it, and I NEVER uncheck mods (I always just remove them) SO I don't understand why this is happening.

     

    Anyone have any help/suggestions?

  12. Ulfric is an overly proud ass who doesn't realize just because one side surrenders, doesn't really mean the battle is over. The imperials are already at war with the elves, and him adding to it will likely be what causes the imperials to loss, and then no one will be there to help when the elves decide they want skyrim too.

     

    Not saying the war isn't just, I understand both sides, but in the end, it's all ulfrics fault, so I have a hard time siding with him. But at the same time, he's just protect his home, so it's hard to side against him. There are just much, much better ways he could have done it without creating a total civil war, in the middle of another war, in the middle of a dragon crisis. (though he couldn't have known the later)

  13. "Mage" is an alternate term for "Magi" which simply means "magic user" and does not specify any type or method of using magic in particular. A shaman, a druid, a warlock, a priest, are all 'Mages' that is why the college and guild's are always called 'Mages' college/guild, and not "wizards college"

     

    And the fact that he is an orc really doesn't change much, in fact, orcs are natural leaders, even if they aren't naturally the most gifted at magic. My cousin's character is an orc battle mage who can go toe to toe with the best mages, and the best warriors.

     

    As for not being the archmage, I don't know of any mods, but the other characters make it pretty clear it's pretty much just an honorary title, and comes with little real power or responsibilities. Kinda like the harbinger of the companions.

  14. I have not seen anything in game to suggest the next game taking place in hammerfell or being called redguard. Also, it's not like bethesda to name a DLC after a RACE.

     

    Thew next game will likely take place in elsewry and the summerset isles, and if it doesn't, I will be very disappointed, since that's where a lot of people assumed TES 5 would take place in. A game has already taken place in hammerfell, and if they choose to make ANOTHER game take place in a relatively boring province before having a game take place in the most exotic and beautiful place in tamriel, then I will loss a significant amount of respect for bethesda.

  15. The ear through the helmet is not a glitch, its intentional. If you had cat ears, you would not want them squished under your helmet, it would be painful as hell, and you wouldn't be able to hear anything. I can see where a hod makes more since, but short of making a hood that SPECIFICALLY hides them, I don't see a way around this without hiding there ears altogether when a helmet is equipped. If it bugs you that much, check out the difference bewteen them and khajiits, and see if you can track down anything about the ears, and try changing it.

     

    I personally edited the HELL out of the dagi raht textures, but I can't reupload them because they are 'sexual' and the author apparently dislikes that kind of thing. Good options for beast races in skyrim are in very VERY short supply, and unless you want to make what you want yourself, you pretty much have to deal with what they give you.

     

    If there is a better dagi raht texture, I wish I could find it. I would LOVE a fussy texture, but it seems everyone in skyrim likes that ugly 'bumpy road map' looking skin rather then actually attempting fur. I'd rather it just be smooth then look the way it does... I may try and fix it one day.

     

    Photoshop CS2 is free to download off the adobe site, and Paint.NET is a free program that can edit and save .dds files, the two of them together can let you edit the textures as much as you want! ^_^

  16. The mod that puts the dragonborn waves all over skyrim is great. The Crysis armor mod is also funny.

     

    Lanterns of skyrim looks nice too, Spells give off light looks nice, and when combined with with Superb ENB RL it makes for a very cinematic dramatic game experience.

     

    SkyMoMo goes well too, almost makes it feel like a whole nother game.

    Also, 101's bugs is good, skybirds, fishing in skyrim, and there's a mod that adds more fish. (Dunno, what it's called, just search 'fish')

  17. I have to agree with the above post, right now, the I find myself hating the new creatures this adds in. The birds are glitchy as hell, I see them flying through the ground 90% of the time, I even came across some randomly flying through the walls/ceiling of a cave deep deep underground. And then the 'raptors' are just totally immersion breaking, they still have wolf pelts and eyes and meat on them. And then it seems the spawns where increased, I started a new character with 'live another life' and popped up in the woods and had to kill about 8-9 skeevers INSTANTLY, and then on the way to riverwood where you always encounter the two wolves I had 6 raptors tear me to shreds, I reloaded like 9 times, and I finally gave up and had to use TGM just to survive and make it to riverwood.

    Also, I came across some BRIGHT NEON GREEN water deep in a dwemer ruin, this is the only mod I have that messes with water, so I can only assume it did it.

     

    Though, most of these issues could be fixes pretty easily, and shoved into a patch.
