  1. What are your save habits like? Using quicksaves, autosaves, etc, isn't a good idea. Overrighting saves isn't a good idea. You could try cleaning one of your later saves with Fallrim tools.....
  2. Tachyons travel faster than light. :D Hypothetically  A LOT of what we 'know', is purely hypothetical. :D
  3. It's been my experience, that the 'smarter' folks are, the worse their social skills are. This is VERY easy to see at any sort of Mensa event...... :) Sure, there are the few odd ones that can actually interact socially, and 'seem' fairly normal, but, they are rare, and it is generally quite the effort for them to do so. Sometimes I think social skill is inversely proportional to intelligence. :D
  4. I don't use ENB to make any graphical improvements at all, just the memory management fixes. Couple ini edits, and down the road you go.
  5. I use ENB just for its memory fixes, on its own, FO4 doesn't handle memory management well. Might be worth a shot.
  6. What hardware are you running the game on?
  7. If the users are coming here to browse mods, why not just download them from here as well, instead of resorting to a third party tool..... This particular topic has come up before as well. (like, every couple of years, since morrowind released.....) Never has really gained any traction. Most of the mod managers will interact directly with the sites, making downloads/installations fairly easy. A couple clicks, and down the road you go. Most folks simply aren't interested in adding yet another layer of complexity to modding their games, (or, installing yet another program......) It's an interesting idea, but, I don't see Nexus integrating support for it into Vortex.
  8. Where could I find the old archived forums? Web Archive.
  9. Also, the tool simply reporting to Nexus that X file was downloaded by Y user, in order to deal with the DP for the mod...... simply won't work. Nexus NEEDS those users to actually VISIT the site, in order to generate revenue. (ads, premium membership, and such) They have zero motivation to support awarding DP to a mod that wasn't actually downloaded from their site. DP only works with downloads from Nexus. Doesn't matter how many downloads you get at some other source, Nexus ain't gonna pay anyone for that.
  10. could try reinstalling them..... see if that makes any difference.
  11. Yeah, trying to run the game over the USB bus is pretty much assured to cause some interesting problems..... if you are on a desktop, install the drive IN the machine.....
  12. That's weird....... Running any mods that change the skeleton, or textures?
  13. There are volume sliders in the in-game controls..... aside from that, maybe reinstall directx?
  14. I think a lotta folks just set both numbers the same.
  15. For a long trip thru normal space, you spend a significant time accelerating, maybe some time coasting, and then a significant time decelerating.... so you don't breeze past your destination at some percentage of light speed. :D You get there with just enough velocity to achieve orbit. Ion engines are all well and good, but, at this point, they simply aren't practical. Still need conventional rockets to get you into space initially, (build the ship in space?) and they are VERY low thrust, AND they DO require 'fuel'.... xenon gas is used at present. They are fine for small probes, but, something on the scale of a generation ship? Nope, not gonna work. Consider you need a minimum population of around 400 people to have a viable gene pool, plus whatever livestock they want to bring, plus enough food, or a way to produce it, to feed everyone for the time the trip takes, and then probably a couple years after landing. I.E. The ship is gonna be BIG. As yet, we don't have the technology to put folks to sleep for that kind of time.... so, need to keep those folks busy, and educate the follow-on generations in both how to run the ship, and eventually, how to survive on a planet surface. And THAT is yet another interesting stumbling block. By the time they get there, there won't be anyone alive that actually lived on a planets surface...... Or experienced 'weather', or extremely large wide open spaces........ (without benefit of a space suit.....) Who's to say that once they get there, and the prospect of essentially permanently grounding themselves just doesn't have the appeal for them, as it did for the folks that initially signed up for the trip....... Then what? Nah, what we REALLY needs is a workable faster than light drive. Don't really care just HOW it works, so long as it does indeed work. I would happily volunteer to go out on an explorer ship. :) (after at least the first one came BACK though.....) I think that would be a gas. :D
  16. I find it highly likely that there is indeed other life out there among the stars. Given the number of earth-like planets, odds are good that some of them developed life. Have they visited us? That's still open for debate..... Leonard Nimoy did a thing on "In search of ancient aliens." That was quite some time ago, but, some of the circumstantial evidence tended to indicate that something happened.... Or maybe it was just folks with a good imagination..... The biggest question I have is, Is faster than light travel, by whatever method, even possible? So far, the answer seems to be 'no'..... So, in order for anyone to visit us, they would have to be significantly more advanced than we are, or, exceptionally long lived. Consider, at our current level of technology, it would take us almost 70,000 YEARS to make it to the nearest star. That just isn't practical. Not even for a generation ship. Besides, who would want to go on such a mission, knowing they would die in space?
  17. It was actually pretty nice out today. We had some dark clouds, but, that was it. Low 70's, nice breeze, fair bit of sun. Too bad I have a cold, and can't enjoy it. :D Hopefully feelin' better tomorrow. Already feel better today, than I did yesterday. Yesterday sucked, so, I slept thru most of it. :D
  18. Indeed, reducing the customer base would not be in the best interests of anyone selling anything...... That, and I am sure the 'hitler' comments would abound as well. (eugenics.....) Besides, of late, if you aren't promising to give everyone everything, you don't get elected........
  19. LOL. I wouldn't say train wreck. More like the site was designed by committee and the UX designer was blind.... Their whole site leaves a LOT to be desired....... do they even have spoiler tags yet???? I have seen three teenagers with a zero dollar budget do a better job......
