  1. Wes Johnson is back from Fallout 3 and Oblivion. He did Sheogorath, Lucien Lanchance, and many other including Mister Burke of Fallout 3. As I said he is back but IMDB is unsure of what voice he is doing as it just says (Voice) Wes Johnson is one of the actors I talked about that could do multiple voices well. At least in my opinion.
  2. It seems you didn't get what I said either. I never said there wasn't multiple Dragonborns or others. I know a lot of the Lore in my head. If I said that this was the first Dragonborn I would obviously never played Oblivion or just played for another reason, Forgot the lore of the story that kind of stuff. When I said last I didn't mean "Only" as those words are different. With what I said about "You are the first Dragonborn seen in centuries, Not "You are the first Dragonborn seen ever." I'm sorry if you misinterpreted what I meant. I was simply saying that Bethsoft themselves said that the Nerevarine isn't the Dragonborn. In fact that could break the immersion unless something happened with the gods. I was implying about the only Dragonborn in the world thing . Yes there were other Dragonborns. But it clearly states that the others have died off and you are the only one left. Sorry for the confusion.

P.S. Nice Skill forum info page.

Ah, gotcha. Thanks for the clarity. So just to break down one thing...do you yourself think that our Skyrim Dragonborn is likely the Nereverine? That would be interesting... But I guess my main thing that keep me from thinking such a thing is that in Skyrim you'll be level 1 and starting anew in skills etc...and I'm not sure how Bethesda would cover that issue, perhaps it's like the Avatar (the Last Airbender), and is "reborn"...hmm.

And thanks for the compliment. :] It was a lot of work. Too bad the thread isn't getting much love now haha.

Yeah, lol. But for the Nerevarine thing, as I said it would make more since if you are Tiber Septim think about it. Technically Dragonborns have been gone for over 100 years that is until your born. What if Tiber Septim (Or Talos.) was you, since Akatosh is Alduin it would make since for one of the Divines that are more in "Touch" with the Soul of a Dragon. I mean basically if Alduin is there then Akatosh is out of the 9 Divines.(Akatosh may have gotten cursed as well. Or maybe he has a multiple personalities. And what I mean by that is when he is Akatosh he does not want to be Alduin he hates Alduin likewise for Alduin he hates Akatosh. If you get what I mean.) It would only make since for a Divine to go against a Divine. So either Talos chose you or he is you. So basically if you are Tiber Septim you have the soul of a soul of a Dragon. (Joke.) But I hope you see were I am leading. BGS could make it to where you are the Nerevarine reincarnated (Or Nerevar reincarnated 2x or something like that, lol.) if they wanted to. Also have you seen certain pics and other stuff of Skyrim that say Reborn 11-11-11. Indeed you might be Nerevarine, Tiber Septim. There is another possiblity. Lorkhan (In some since it would make sense I mean Lorkhan betrayed the others. Maybe they are giving him a second chance.)

  3. Yes, Daggerfall had a lot of the same problems and features that Oblivion had.A lot of level-scaling, generic cities, fast-traveling, Daggerfall had it first.Which gives me hope for Skyrim.

Though at least Daggerfall had a reason for fast-traveling. It would take years to beat it without. 2 weeks just to walk from end to end on the map non-stop. Yeah fast-traveling wasn't a problem to many in Daggerfall it was a need. Oblivion however it is not. Though I still use Fast travel, cause if I don't my game crashes around certain areas and I have spent hours already fixing them. About the level scaling. I love Level Scaling it was just that in Oblivion the way they did it was a bad choice. If I was level 100 or so and level-scaling wasn't there I would basically kill everything in one hit which basically many call that your too god-like and don't like the game in Morrowind. Then for Oblivion it was everything became too hard later. If there was a combination of the two I would love it. But it seems Skyrim has dealt with this issue.

I never stated that there was anything wrong with fast-traveling in my comment, note that I said problems and features.

Sorry about that. Maybe I should of payed more attention to the "Which gives me hope for Skyrim" part, eh?

  4. Plus if there were two Dragonborns the emphasis on Dovakhiin would be less. At best they wouldn't say "But, there is one they fear. In their tongue Dovakhiin. DRAGONBORN!" instead it would say "But, there is two they fear. In their tongue Dovakhiin. DRAGONBORN's!" Or something. And by One I am sure it is saying One it didn't say two. Not trying to criticize but for lore-wise two Dragonborns wouldn't fit. (At least in 4E 201.) Yes they could have Two Dragonborns. But in my opinion it would be like two Nerevarines. You may say "Dragonborns are those born with the soul of the Dragon." So there might be two but since Todd himself said the Dragonborn is basically back to rid the Dragons from Tamriel. In logic of two Dragonborns (At this time setting in Tamriel. I mean before The Emperor got assassinated there was 5 Dragonborn's but not now.) would be like the logic of two Dragonborn's would be like two Nerevarine's. If you see what I mean. I would rather say you are the reincarnation of Talos or Tiber Septim so basically you have a god in your soul. I mean Talos appeared before the Nerevarine himself and said "The Empire is getting old, time for something new" He says stuff after that but the funny thing is Dragonborn appears right when The Empire and the Rebels are fighting and there are Dragons. Coincidence? In my opinion I think not.
  5. For those thinking the Nereverine could be Dovahkiin...who's to say there's only ONE dragonborn in the world? I never read that even once. So it's silly to think that lore or tradition would be broken just to make it so. The Nereverine is not Dovahkiin.

Bethsoft themselves said you are the last Dragonborn. Quote from elderscrolls.wikia "In the Elder Scrolls universe, the term Dragonborn is used to refer to the descendants of Emperor Tiber Septim, founder of the Septim Dynasty of Tamriel. Most of past Dragonborn have been of the Imperial Race; however, Dragonborn can be of any race, as the abilities and title are given by the Nine Divines to favored subjects. It also may refer to the Nerevarine, the main character from Morrowind, who is referred to as "Dragon-born" in the Lost Prophecy. The issues have since been cleared up, with Game Developer Todd Howard revealing that the "Dragonborn" of Skyrim will be different to those in previous games." From this you can see that Dragon-born simply means from Cyrodiil. As well this

quote from thedragonborn.com "You play the last of the Dragonborn You are the first of the Dragonborn seen in centuries."

Perhaps it was my wording...but what you may have extrapolated isn't what I was getting at. Nerevarine isn't the only Dragonborn ever. And just because Skyrim's hero is the LAST Dragonborn, doesn't mean there weren't others. In fact, it implies there were multiple at some point.

It seems you didn't get what I said either. I never said there wasn't multiple Dragonborns or others. I know a lot of the Lore in my head. 7. I've read somewhere that animals as companions are available.

Wow, I've never heard of this "companion" idea to be introduced into Skyrim ... The idea isn't even mentioned or touched upon on any of the interviews or gameplay footages I've seen this past month. Very interesting ... If you have any more additional information (links and what not) would love to see them like.

HOWEVER, if companions perminately die, then they are a total waste of time. Instead of focusing on fighter monster X I'll be trying to figure out how to keep my dog alive. That's not how it's supposed to work.

Totally agree. They should definitely have some way of either, retrieving them (once they've been slain) through a spell or a shrine of some sort - spread around the map.

If your talking about humanoid companions they are all across the internet. For Dogs and that stuff I couldn't imagine them not being in given the Fallout 3 Success of Dogmeat. Bethsoft also hinted to it as well. When I played on the 360 over 3 years ago on Oblivion of course I always wanted a dog companion more than a humanoid companion. Yes Shivering Iles you say had one but that one I could lose and it dies easily. It didn't even feel like a companion compared to Fallout 3's Dogmeat. By the well it seems there are different dog models. Anyone Else notice?

They might have the essential part or not. And I guarantee if marriage and companionship works well in Skyrim, I know it will be in at least one or so of the DLC's.

  8. Yes, Daggerfall had a lot of the same problems and features that Oblivion had.A lot of level-scaling, generic cities, fast-traveling, Daggerfall had it first.Which gives me hope for Skyrim.

  9. Still I wonder how the kill NPC sleep in their bed thing works. Do you get the house? Is Trespassing no longer in Skyirm? You still trespass but sleeping in said bed will allow you to rest? Or there is still Trespassing but you can wait, sleep and everything now while trespassing? We don't know but it would be nice to know. Killing NPC's in Morrowind you technically did not get the house. As Crates and stuff was still the dead owners. Because when you put non-stolen items in and take them out they become stolen. I had my Trueflame taken away like that. And also a economy where you could buy said persons house would be nice, but at the same time stupid. I couldn't imagine how many would go around killing just for the sake of getting a house. (Murder suspection might be there as well.)
  10. From the exo or whatever website IV000 posted this looks like new news I might be wrong though. "The last thing I'd like to mention is the fact that towns actually live in "real time". This means that things will go on in town, whether you are there or not. Also you can now participate in mundane activities if you so choose, like cutting wood or making swords, shields and such. A really nice addition for those that want to be able to sink even more hours into the game." First part the Real Time part is what I am talking about.
  11. ram will likely not be a big issue, xbox has 512mb of shared system and gfx mem. where as anyone with a low end of the middle gpu will have 1GB, not to mention have an average of 2-4GB of system ram.

However saying that, consoles generally get 2x more out of their components than PCs, they don't run HD resolution, and PC Skyrim will ship with higher res textures than console versions (Yes Todd said that months ago)

    It is apples and oranges.

Anyone playing HD on recent games will probably be playing HD on Skyrim too.

I'm just talking about the minimum specs, just running it, not running it on HD or anything else. The thread is about whether it will run, not really about how well it will run.

Also, in comparing apples and oranges one can pretty easily say that both are roundish fruit of about the same size. Direct comparisons are also available, take any game for both console and PC and run it on both at the same settings.

Your 2x figure doesn't stand up to close scrutiny in any way. The CPU of the xbox360 is a triple core and clocks in at 3.2ghz, by that logic we'd need around a six core cpu at 3.2 ghz or a 3 core cpu at 6.4 to play it on a PC at console settings. It just doesn't work, consoles are at best moderately more efficient at playing games on a 1:1 basis. They mainly have an advantage due to their manufacturing efficiencies and subsidized prices which leads to a much lower cost per computing power for the consumer.

Odd because my old PC was only 2.2 GHZ 2GB Ram 256MB Video card and it ran GTA IV, Fallout 3 and every other game better than the PS3 and 360. With mods too. You forget the Fact that even with a "Horrible PC" it can be optimized to get rid of unnecessary things.

  12. Yeah but I would rather people call it by TES instead of just Oblivion. This would remove the confusion of many think Skyrim is Oblivion 2. It's like Calling Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 2. But no one gets confused about that because The Legend of Zelda is more popular to kids and others than TES (I still love TES, I'm not saying I don't.) I assure you if TES became as famous as Legend of Zelda people would agree with Zenimax on this. Scrolls isn't used often for games vs something like Craft in a game. there are so many "Crafts" you can't do anything about it. Scrolls as I said is rare, and since The Elder Scrolls has Scrolls in it people can think it is Scrolls. One. Scrolls isn't widely known so I have met those even on the Minecraft forums thought a secret (Or so.) TES was being made through Mojang themselves. Two. I am sure if Mojang let it out of the box saying there are developing a new IP called Scrolls less would have been confused. Three. As someone said before and many agree is that the "Posting the unresolved legal dispute on the internet is bashing the acting company in many ways and gaining influence for their Case" Notch may not have wanted to make Bethsoft look bad but by doing this, he has to many.

Finally I'm sure if he contacted Bethsoft about this matter privately vs what he has done this probably would have been over. Because I know if I was the CEO or something of Bethsoft or Zenimax even I would be mad and would have liked the secret approach. It would be like someone tattle telling to everyone in the world about what you did (Anything at least in the aspect of said effect could be devastating.) and now most to all hate you for it Instead of going secretly to discuss what happened and resolving it and have a better life through it.

  13. The ingredients were just a Demo thing. And about the AI for the corpse thing. That is more realistic than some think. If I knew something was out there I would stay put (In an area at least like a ten foot radius, that should be implemented at least.) If the Bandit or whatever would go look other places One. It would be a stupid Idea there could be dozens of enemies there for all you know. If said bandit went to check he could easily be killed or it could be a distraction in the first place. (Like if I kill an Imperial Legion Soldier and the Imperial Legion Soldier goes to look around I could go get all the loot from said Imperial Soldier and just move along as the guard is looking around.) Another thing is That bandit/soldier could go looking around and I could easily just slip past him because he is not in that area anymore. In some manners it's realistic yes. Like Navy Seals would go to a safe area if one got shot to make a new strategy or something. Idiot terrorists would go looking for the person that killed said guy and get killed way faster. I think you get what I mean that the "Standing at corpse" is realistic in some ways. Bandits are stupid anyways. Legion Soldiers (At least on my 360 version) would look around anyways if I killed something even without a bounty.
  14. Seeing as the last Dwemer has lived over 1000 or 1500 years or more Corprus must mean that they are Immortal. I remember reading somewhere too that those that are infected with corprus live forever with a cursed and uncontrollable flesh (Or something like that.) Or the Dragonborn might be a reincarnation of Tiber Septim (He got his throat cut by a Nightblade so he had to use whispers not shouts. Makes me wonder how whispers work. maybe way less powerful Shouts a FUS RU DOH forget how its spelled would be a fus ru doh.) it would make sense in a way. But I think the gods choose this to happen. Because your the last Dragonborn right? If you were from the Septims I am sure your lineage would pass on. That is compared to if your character was born from a regular Mother and Father and through the Divines you got the soul of a Dragon. That would make more sense in my opinion. But if you are a Septim that would be odd because some races Imperials can not breed with (If I remember right according to lore.) and other things as well. But still if you are a Septim the Divines with there power would make it possible for you not to have a baby Dragonborn (I could imagine you have a child and it does a Dragonshout and destroys the house, not I am joking about this by the way that would be odd.) And still for the Nerevarine he might still be alive but if not it will show how dangerous the land of Akavir is because the Nerevarine as everyone knows is strong. But if your not the Nerevarine and he is not dead, I know we won't see him. It would break immersion. For example you meet the Nerevarine but he is an Imperial and has a name of Attius Curio or something like that and in Morrowind you played a Dunmer named Garadon Kale (That is my name of my character.) it would definitely break immersion. You might see your character from Oblivion of course but as Sheogorath and looking like Sheogorath did. We don't know, who knows the Old-Sheogorath could of came back. You may so no, you became him, but what if you died and because you died Sheogorath comes back. I mean you took his place. But no one really know what happened. Skyrim may or may not elaborate as this. In any case you character from Oblivion seemed immune to Madness. When you asked Haskill if the "Mad" people outside could be cured he said "Cured, what do mean Cured? You talk as though it is a disease. Maybe you are the one that needs cured" He was obviously talking about your immunity to madness. When you became Sheogorath you didn't become like him "Mad" but you understood the mad. (Maybe later you become more like him, maybe not. Or maybe you were mad like Sheogorath but Bethesda just didn't program it in.) As I said no one knows but we'll find out I hope.
  15. I love the new site. But Dark0ne don't know if you read my suggestion in the suggestion, feedback and question section but here is what it is about. Basically for mods that have 3 or more downloads in it I think a check mark system where you can download more at once is good (I know bandwidth issues and other things can limit this though.) at a time, maybe for Premium members only. I don't know but it would be a good time saving feature I think. Here is the link of course to read more on it. Might be a good feature for the new site. http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/422591-mod-time-saving-feature/
  16. I think the main reason he didn't venture further into the water is because flowing water now has a pushing effect on the player and had he gone in over his head it would have carried him down stream and away from his focused path in the demo, screwing up the flow of the presentation.

That could be very true. Oblivion had the Tech to do it. (Of course they didn't use it like the trees move to the wind, they originally had they deleted that whole. The water physics was still in TESCS somewhat so modders could use it. Forget what happened to it. I think when the latest TESCS came out they removed it.) Liberation of Cybaides I think used it. It could very well be possible that this is why.

  17. Zaldiir read this From me It's probably for certain spell. Because I know if Detect Life Chameleon and all those had Oblivion's Style. So this in reality is Impossible if Heal and everything like chameleon (The ones that had a different skill level like Soul Trap. Most likely from what your saying is that certain spells like Frost Bite and Frost Rune for example are different levels and do not level because there's different versions of them.)

Edit: Yes, Friend talked to a BGS that he got to know and added on FB and he said that some spells like Detect Life are like this but some aren't like in the Destruction category. He said they wanted to let you sweep through inventory's faster. If there was still 200 spells in Alteration for example he said that they felt it would be closer to Oblivion's inventory overload. So what he said is what I basically said. Unique spells if you will call them like Detect Life change with their mastery, Spells like Frost Rune or something (Not saying Frost rune is like this just comparing it) won't do that as there are various ones from that.

  18. New News, lol. According to IMDB a new actor has appeared, Rob Locke as commoner/additional voices. This is at all not saying that there won't be around 70 actors. But even with 70 voice actors it would be impossible for no one Actor to not do another NPC besides those like Max Von Sydow of course because there are going to be 100's or around even 1,000 NPC's in Skyrim. (That is of course for the ones that are doing lesser characters so called. Max Von Sydow is doing one very important character if say someone less famous or something got in they would do multiple because Budget issues. There are those famous as well that do multiple people as well of course. But that is usually because they can do multiple voice accents/personalities well.) For those that complain about this (Not any of you a lot on the other sites do this.) to be unique I am sure there would have to be over 1,000 Voice Actors in Skyrim. I'm sure everyone can agree that for BGS to be able to use more money on the game resource and other stuff than Voice Actors is better. 70 VA, people may complain still but what do they want? Bethesda to spend Millions on Voice Acting which is actually (From what I've been told Oblivion took 20 Million to make while Skyrim will be 100 Million to make and the Voice Acting is over 50 Million or so for that, at least what I've been told. But still it is definitely more than Oblivion's) happening. Two reasons why games don't use many actors for Voice Acting. One is of course the more voice acting the more Disc Space taken up which leads to less of other things. Two is money and the Budget.
  19. I find myself looking for new info every day so three months will drag I am sure.

I know it was a scripted run and they only wanted to show certain things but it was curious to me. I could see them not wanting to reveal something big but that would have seemed like a small revelation.

The marketing was fantastic and one of the best things was the short videos they made public everyday leading up to the release date. Has anyone heard if they will do this again?

I've been looking up new information everyday since freaking February. But, the way I see it, all time is relative. Yesterday is today's memory, and tomorrow is today's dream. That sort of keeps me going, not that it pertains to any of this.

As for the water in the demo, I believe that Todd may have just been teasing the crowd. They were all crying for him to go into the water, and so he went into the water, just as they wished. And Todd had a troll face on when he did it. That, or he is still running the Alpha build they were using months ago for the 'one on one' demos with journalists. So it could be that the water wasn't entirely ready in the Alpha build, and therefore Todd decided that he would just get his boots wet.

And the marketing, I bet they'll put up a commercial or two. I remember I bought Portal 2 because of the commercials, without playing Portal or having any prior knowledge of the game, besides that it was a puzzle game, of course. Anyways, big games always put out a commercial, so my guess is that it will be no different for Skyrim. Especially since they did commercials for Oblivion. They might even have the "preorder at GameStop" commercials that have become so popular. But, we will have to wait and see. There's no telling whether Bethesda has decided that the amount of media that has already been released was enough or not.

Right now, Skyrim is at about 325,000 preorders on the Xbox 360 in America, and went up by about 50,000 last week. With 13 weeks until release, I can't imagine any less than 500,000 preorders for the 360, and I'm guessing there will be 700,000 to 900,000 preorders on the 360 alone a week before release. Again, whether Bethesda thinks this is enough or not will determine whether they put commercials out or not. But this is just speculation on my part.

The preorder thing has been at Gamestop for months now. Almost everytime I go in Skyrim's Official Trailer is being shown at the Dragonshout part. It's an awesome chilling feeling. About the 360 that is that alone so over 1 Million has already preordered it. For the Demo Bethsoft confirmed its the Alpha Built they showed to the journalists just with the Scripted Dragons. As you know the Dragons are rarely going to be like that when you play the game. I say 1/100 times you try to fight the Giant not Dragon picks him up. Probably even less as that Dragon was Scripted to show up there as well as the other Dragons. Bethsoft themselves said it will not be like this in the game. They said they would have had to play over 100 times for something barely close to happen like this. So they had it scripted.

  20. Anyways if I wanted to cancel my pre-order for Skyrim I would have never pre-ordered it. As before I knew this from April and have told many. GStaff was the one that said it will be on Steam only.( I was told back in April via Facebook.) Yes I have told many but you know how that is they wanted proof. I showed them it but it was not enough. Still I guess this brings something up about the lawsuit don't believe just one side and that on the other side everyone agrees with it or whatever. Just like in the U.S. we are in a Conflict, but many don't agree in the U.S choice for not backing out and the decision on the matter, right? Same with Bethsoft many don't agree with the lawsuit either. Many think that Freedom mean Freedom of Speech and all that stuff means they can go to a School and curse the children out basically do what they want. But with Freedom you have limits still. I'm sure in Bethsoft and many other companies if Todd gets in a fight over this matter BGS could face a lot of problems such as financing and other things. So in the freedom manner that does not mean you can curse your Boss out and Threaten him and other stuff and get away with it. Freedom does not mean Anarchy where everyone can do whatever get away with whatever and get away with it. Still I'm saying this because those who will say Todd can do whatever he wants with repercussion. In fact he will get a repercussion. I hope people see what I mean there are many examples and metaphors that can prove this.
  21. I hate Steam as well, but I knew months ago it was on Steam. Matt told me, well and Todd loves Steam. But still now the >2Gb option in the CFF Explorer has gone to waste. In other words if you have 12GB like me but Bethsoft won't allow a 64bit exe which they said already, now 12GB of RAM is going to be there for nothing. Now if I do get Open Cities for Skyrim it will lag a lot unless I get past the RAM limit. (I'm not saying Skyrim will be laggy at start I'm saying that once you get a lot of mods it will become laggy, that is depending on your computer. Still the RAM limit makes it harder for the FPS to be as good. I remember Todd saying that the RAM on the consoles has made open cities not possible but now it will be hard for PC users as well that want to get past Most of Steams RAM limitation.) Still I played G4WL Fallout 3. It was way less laggy than Steam's. Mainly because when I used CFF Explorer which increased my RAM usage on Fallout 3 and allowed for more mods. Plus FOSE automatically disables G4WL which results in better Steam. (Mods can as well.) Steam can't be disabled and it is annoying So Steam has many limitations many are not aware of. Still going to get Skyrim, Steam is not as friendly of a "platform" to mod as no DRM is of course. I knew Skyrim was Steam only months ago, but still this will not stop my love for Skyrim. Not canceling my CE Edition for this. :)
