Skyrim SE - Mod Detectives Thread
7531Leonidas replied to DoctorKaizeld's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
@DirebearCoat @Aurum10000For generic NPCs, there is DFNF - Default Face NPCs Fixed ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/54515 ). Missed another recent one - Ordinary People - NPC Overhaul ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/114829 ). -
CTD Every time I enter the Frozen Hearth Inn
7531Leonidas replied to thehive1948's topic in Mod Troubleshooting
FYI - such crashes are often, but not exclusively, resulting from a missing or corrupted file. First, I would verify the Skyrim game files, then uninstall, re-download, and re-install any mod that specifically changes the Frozen Hearth one at a time, beginning at the ones at the bottom of your load order, then working upward. Testing after each such reinstall. The bad news - the missing/corrupted file might also be from a mod that puts different clothing/equipment on an NPC in the Frozen Hearth. That would be much harder to track down w/o a crash log. -
CTD Every time I enter the Frozen Hearth Inn

What type of crash? Lockup/freeze, CTD, etc. If you don't have one, a crash logger can be useful, if not easy to interpret. Crash Logger ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/59818 ) and Trainwreck ( ) are the usual choices, but Crash Logger has an associated Crash Log Reader ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/75430 ) that can cut some of the redundant data. Problematic rework/decorative mods, or corrupted NPC and texture mods can cause this easily. Load order conflicts, less often (can you click on the Mod Index header to arrange you mods in their LO - makes it easier to spot a problem arrangement). Use/post any crash LOG (not analyzer results) in a spoiler (use the 'eye' icon in the post window, and paste the log there) when you ask for help. It is a good idea to post all such lists in a spoiler. You should probably re-post this in the Skyrim SE forum (many more experienced eyes see this stuff faster), use the 'Game Communities' at the top of the page, select Skyrim, then Skyrim SE. Join to post. -
@1ZanZam2 Try going to the FO4 game forum, by clicking on Game Communities and scrolling for its forum. Join it to post, then post this question there. Someone may have already solved the problem, or at least have more insight. Do you see any of the 'lightning bolt' conflict flags in Vortex for your vehicles retexture? If you do, then that will most likely tell you what the problem is. You might also check the Plugins page to see if there are any LOOT messages or problem flags for your load order.

problem locating texture file to fix missing texture's
7531Leonidas replied to andy12324's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Sorry, I have no ideas, except that you load up your mods in SSEEdit, and do a search for the problematic texture(s). Maybe someone knows a trick in the Creation Kit that would help you isolate it. -
One more thing - it is not a good idea to use the Creations UI to manage mods if you are using or plan to use a mod manager - it will almost certainly mess with your load order.

problem locating texture file to fix missing texture's
7531Leonidas replied to andy12324's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Hi, andy - glad to see that you made it over, I tried to check on your earlier post, and couldn't find it, got concerned. What mod manager are you using? That might help others pinpoint your problems. First, you need to mouse over to the second panel in the above example, and use the SHIFT key over each value such as [5], and see what information is there. You can do the same thing over the scrolling arrow at the top/bottom of the panel to show the additional textures not yet shown of the 27 indicated. Make note of any mods that modify those textures, and look through your mod list. That said, I see DweKingRock01.dds, and wonder if it is somehow connected to the mod that has King in the name, or maybe the name of the mod author? You might go back and try to zoom in on individual areas using the ~fov command, such as fov 25, and try to click directly on the gray panels, or the pale yellow borders, or the more intense yellow/golded stone panels, to see if you can reduce the amount that you have to browse through. Can't promise that it will work, as textures that come from mods w/o an .esp might not be listed. Remember, the SHIFT key is what you need to break down information in MIC. -
Welcome to Beth update nightmares! Starting with v. 1.6.1130, they reworked some basic code that completely ruins some earlier SKSE-based mods. There is a nexus.wiki link to help show those mod updates that are available, see ( https://modding.wiki/en/skyrim/users/skse-plugins ). Additionally, there are several threads in the Skyrim SE forum that might help, but in Vortex, I think. Here is one -

The document you posted is not a crash log. It is an analysis of a crash log. You should post the original crash log, at least, if not both. From the analysis: This is because the analysis/summary removes some information to make it easier to read through. You should probably be posting in the Skyrim SE forum, so those with more experience in Skyrim have a chance to see it. Go to 'Game Communites' at the top of the page, click on it, and find the Skyrim forum. You have to join the community (Skyrim SE, not LE) to post.

ENB or weather mod bug or something????
7531Leonidas replied to purrpa's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Didn't know about the flares from other ENB mods, but I have lived most of my life w/glasses on my face, so I would rather do without the flares. -
@JammieBenjarellaLasercarn If you grab More Informative Console ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/19250 ), when you click on an object or character with the console open, you can see information about the mod and other mods that alter it. Check out the description and images on the mod page to see if it might be what you need.

ENB or weather mod bug or something????
7531Leonidas replied to purrpa's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
That is from your ENB. You do not have a dedicated flare sprite, that is the telltale. Go into your ENB settings, and turn off the sun flare. -
@Tsunami1500 There are a few users here who have posted HP head files. You could once find them by searching mod page comments. Try searching the Skyrim SE forum for high poly head, and see if you can find a link. Here's one of the latest threads. ( https://forums.nexusmods.com/topic/13467463-high-poly-head-presets/ ) There is a link in the comments.

Have you tried uninstalling/removing the replacer(s), then d/l and installing anew? Might just be a corrupted d/l. Have you checked your Plugins page in Vortex for LOOT messages, or errors? Do you have a crash logger? Two popular ones: Crash Logger SSE AE VR - PDB support ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/59818 ) - it has a matching log reader that might help you figure out what is wrong OR Trainwreck ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/106440 ).

Glad its an SSD, but I think that the size of your swapfile may still be problematic, given the amount of memory as indicated by SPM. My system, running at 3840x2160, routinely goes over 24 GB of total memory use, so your data transfers, even at your lower resolution, could still be slowing you down. Search out the recommended swapfile size for 24 G of system memory, and set the min and max to that value. I don't think that dynamic sizing is your friend. A link, but a bit dated ( https://stepmodifications.org/forum/topic/5117-windows-page-file-and-skyrim-load-times/ ).

Only help that I have, is click on 'Game Communities' on the menu bar, above, then scroll down to the BG3 forum here on the Nexus, join it, and post there. This has shown up a lot since BG3 was published, so there should be plenty of help there.

Once you have the Settings Loader for your mod enabled, open your game, wait for all of your MCM mods to initialize/stabilize, then simply make sure that your MCM settings are set to the values you want, and save your game. I am pretty sure that the settings are somehow baked into the save, or the SKSE co-save, which is why you have to leave one save from the previous character when you make a new character, so your desired values carry over into a new game. I absolutely LOVE not having to reset A Matter of Time, NFF, or Trade and Barter from scratch when starting a new game.

Find the SkyrimPrefs.ini under \Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition, check that the [Launcher] sD3DDevice value matches your video card model. Mine looks like: sD3DDevice="AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX". I was thinking that there might be another location for video card information, but I can't find it.

Don't know how well versed you are in the world of SKSE, but there are three basic ways for such a message: Your game stealth-updated to a newer version, usually results in message that SKSE is not compatible with the game executable. The mod itself is built for a different version of SKSE, and you need to update the mod. You might need to search for an NG version, which is a type of all-in-one install of all versions. The newest version of Address Library SHOULD work, you are using SKSE 2.2.6, which is for Skyrim SE v. 1.6.1170. Here is a quote from a post on Address Library comments, maybe it will work for you, too... One question, though - is your DAR .dll from installing OAR (a compatibility .dll), or are you trying to use both at the same time? If both, that sounds risky to me, but I haven't switched over to OAR yet, so I don't know.
