Horrible FPS at the beginning (prison cell)
HeyYou replied to Tintinos's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Usually, the terrible FPS came when you LEFT the dungeon after the emperor was assassinated.... Is there a "renderer.txt" file in your My Games\Oblivion folder? Might check that, and see what video solution the game thinks it is using. Sure sounds like it's trying to use the integrated graphics. Might also pull up Task Manager, and see what things look like.... -
I'm running at 3440X1440. Aside from the shadows, the perspective is a little odd too. Running my 1st Person FOV at 95, and things at the periphery of the screen stretch out, and appear much closer than they actually are. Kinda disconcerting. Had it 110 originally, and have been reducing it slowly to see if I can fix it.... So far, the answer is "no". :D

Welcome to Nexus. :) I don't know if there is a forum specific to Splinter Cell, but, if there is, the modding section there would be the place to post.

Yeah, it's a whole new experience in widescreen. Yep, I do believe it is definitely a beth shadow issue, as at night, the game looks amazing. (and watching movies that are native 21:9 aspect ratio on the new monitor is also a whole new experience. :D That one REALLY surprised me.) I want to install TruX9 mod, and some of it's patches as well, just to see if that improves things, but, my NAS seems to have decided it doesn't want to work properly, and that Offends NMM. It can't find the downloads folder, so it wants to uninstall all my mods. (the mod staging folder/storage for archives is on the NAS, which I can't get to at the moment.) Still waiting to hear back from Buffalo support, but, it has been two days...... granted, it IS the holiday season..... I think I am going to have to come up with a different solution there, the drives in it are raid 0, (striped) so likely the data there is just gone. I have an older backup around here somewhere, but, it's on another HDD, and I have quite a few to dig thru. :D Might be a good opportunity to reinstall a couple games, and rebuild my load lists from my download history. Ah well. Life goes on. :D

I think doing something like listing what mods are in the video, whom they were authored by, and maybe even a link to their mod?? If you generate traffic for an authors mod page, I know that would put a smile on my face. :D

I blocked steam at my router. I can't do squat on the internet without my say so. :D Works pretty good. I don't really see Steam as "DRM" though. That may be a tertiary, or Quaternary concern, but, it is easily bypassed, so Steam isn't required at all. (I am NOT advocating folks do that. BUY YOUR GAMES!) The whole "Games for Windows Live" thing was a non-starter when it was new. :) It was an incredibly bad idea, and history has shown that. GFWL has been gone for several years now... Didn't Beth release a patch to remove that requirement?? I thought it was on their website somewhere?

Static shot won't show what it's doing, its only when you are moving, turning your head, or, the sun is changing position. Shadows don't translate well. :D They kinda flicker in/out every few seconds.

Are you doing the Brotherhood of Steel questline by any chance??

Well, got my new monitor, got it set up, and things are cool. (MSI 34" 4K monitor.) Tweaked some settings in my Fallout 4 inis, so I can take advantage of all of that screen real estate, and I love it. Problem I am having is, when the 'sun' moves, the shadows do really odd and strange things, kinda disconcerting. I don't *think* it was doing that previously, (1080P samsung monitor) but, there is a LOT more screen to see, so, maybe I just didn't notice it previously? Anyone know of a 'fix' for that? Or, at least, a way to reduce the effect?

And of course, the one you want is part of the 25%..... :) Can you scroll up/down, and find it??

In game, open the console, and type is SQT, see what quests show up.

Fallout 4 Nuka World DLC Mods in 2021 - Which to choose?
HeyYou replied to Ella81's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Read the comments on mods that appeal to you. Any glaring issues will be pointed out in there. Don't have to read the whole thread, as some of them can run to way to many pages. :D If you don't see anything joy-killing in the first four or five pages, you are probably good. :D Having the right weapons, and sufficient ammunition is key to taking out the raiders. I usually scout around for a good, defensible spot, and then try and draw the raiders to me. I use PANPC though, so the raiders AI tends to want them to run toward the gunfire, and the dead bodies. :D It CAN get hairy, that's why a defensible position is pretty much a requirement. :D The marketplace is a tough one though, there is never a time when it is JUST the raiders in there, so, you have to be careful whom you shoot at, and the raiders subscribe to the 'spray and pray' school of gun fighting.... THAT spot IS a tough one. -
Still and all, worth a shot.... So far as I know, I haven't seen ANY "tutorial" that was a mod...... they were all about making, or installing mods.... Isn't that what tutorials are for???

If you open file explorer, click on This PC, it will show all the drives in your machine. Right click on your D drive, then left click on 'properties' in the context menu that comes up. On the general tab, it will tell you what kind of file system it uses.

Fallout 4 Nuka World DLC Mods in 2021 - Which to choose?
HeyYou replied to Ella81's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Just because a mod is old, doesn't imply it isn't any good. Read thru the recent comments on the mod, and check out the bugs tab, if there is one. There are some golden oldies out there, that were great then, and still great now. I would love to see a mod that turned Nuka World into a trading center, without the hassle of raiders...... Supposedly, that's what it was intended for in vanilla, if you didn't the "Open Season" quest, but, once done, sure, the raiders are gone, for the most part, but, that is also the end of the storyline..... Would love to be able to build the place up, and have it provide a nice income. :D (and I don't even really care about the income.) -
Maybe just try 'traitor'?
-
Wow. LOTS of stuff I have no clue about there. Are you using F4SE? If so, install the Better Console mod, find one of your invisible NPC's, open the console, and click on 'em. Should tell you what the last mod to affect them is.
-
I fail to see why that would cause staff here to remove it...... It looks to be a pretty comprehensive guide..... Have you tried contacting staff, to see why it was removed? That makes very little sense to me.
-
Theoretically, you can use the file in a video, without violating any of those terms. It wouldn't hurt to at least ask the author for permission to do so, however, I don't think that is an absolute legal requirement.
-
That makes you the ghost. :D
-
Missing textures. Any mods that change armor/wearables in your load order? Likely one of them.
-
Load up your mods in FO4Edit, and search for "kill the traitor", should only be one reference to it, or, only one mod, at any rate.
-
The forums/mods site seem to hide things every now and again... And its rather random what it chooses to hide. Look once, not there, reload the page, there it is..... Ghost in the machine. :D
