  1. Yeah, I thought that would be the case. I would agree with the "new universe, new Frontier" if it didn't automatically give you the "new" frontier. If it's gonna revert back to the old Frontier then I should have to go acquire the Frontier because it's from this new universe that I've supposedly brought nothing with me into. But since I already have it when I enter the new Universe then it should be my upgraded Frontier from the previous universe since I've clearly brought it with me into the new Universe. Yeah, that's kinda weird..... I was surprised to see it in my ship list... but, I don't think it was there until I actually went to the lodge... maybe..... :) In my first NG+, all the folks were still at the lodge, and talked about how they thought they had "lost me" somehow. Don't know if that means the original 'me' in the universe was killed, or what.... Imagine their surprise if you get there, and you are ALREADY there. :D
  2. Player.setscale doesn't work Theoretically, there is a mod that fixes it.
  3. They are mercenaries. Morals don't really enter into the picture... If the money is good, it doesn't matter what the job is. That said, that would be a rather interesting story line. :D
  4. wait I can just do that? Would he be ok with it if I shared an edited version of the .ini I *think* it would work...... no direct experience though. Not sure about sharing the ini...... it *seems* like that would be ok.... but, I am not an authority there either. :D
  5. It should. I haven't played with outpost long but I know there should be a POI. But this is the problem, the POI is missing. There are still other POI like random spacer's bases or old POIs that I used to scout for resources. But the actual POI to my Outpost, gone! The outposts are still available for my crews to be assigned to. Ok, that's just weird. :D Did you report that one to Beth?
  6. Care to show how you changed ini to redirect the game to poke at the steam folder? If you want to know how I did it, I use symlink to fake 2 Data folders. The game still thinks it is loading files from my Document folder, but in reality, there is a Symlink Data folder that points back at my Steam folder. I believe it is as simple as turning off the "Message of the Day", redirecting the path for the "Photos" store, and then blowing away the Data directory in the "My Games" folder. bEnableMessageOfTheDay=0 (is under the [general] header) sPhotoModeFolder=Photos (is under the [Display] header)
  7. So, install the height randomizer, set up the ini file so it doesn't really do anything, and call it a day. :D
  8. Ok, I see the issue. The mods aren't formatted properly for install via vortex.... Copy the Textures folder from the mods, to your Steam\Steamapps\Common\Starfield\Data folder. They should start showing up then.
  9. New universe, new Frontier..... It makes sense. :D Currently though, I don't think we have the tools necessary to do what you want. That's likely gonna have to wait for the CK to release. Sometime next year.
  10. And there is your problem. This game moves LOT of data, and and mechanical drive speeds, the drive just cannot keep up with demand. Only way to fix it is to upgrade that drive.
  11. With fallout 4, we have mod managers, and actual modding tools. Starfield is still 'fresh'. :D And we don't really have any of that. So, manually shuffling files is pretty much the rule of the day. Though, rumor has it, Mod Organizer 2 does a good job of installing mods that are set up for it. Vortex is still kinda hit or miss..... Which mod are you trying to install?
  12. Um, are you sure? The existence of that Data folder does not matter. What matters is where the game will look for content. You are saying the game will ALSO look for content in steamapps/common/Starfield/Data? Because to my knowledge, the game only load loose files over Document folder. Once again, the existence of the extra Data folder does not matter. You can have "Data/Data/Data/Data/", the game will simply not find content in there, thus render the existence of these folders irrelevant, but harmless. However, the moment you see "Data/Data", it rather hint that some mod is installed incorrectly. What you should do is to go into the second Data folder to fish out any content and cut/copy them to the main Data folder. Simply deleting Data folder will not help. The way computer works, it has a specific file path to look for things. It does not care how your file structures are. You can have 1000 Data folders and the game wouldn't know or care. But if your content is not exactly at the right path, the game will simply not load it. I nuked the Data folder in the My Games\Strafield folder, adjusted a couple settings in the ini, so the game doesn't really 'require' that folder, and installed all mods the data folder in the game install folder. (yeah, steamapps\etc.) The game will load any files from that directory it finds. At this point, most texture mods are 'loose' files in any event, as creating an esp to prompt an archive to load, is a bit problematic.
  13. You should really only have to set them once.... after you change anything at all on the ship. If you don't have enough power from your reactor to fully power weapons/shields/engines, pull power from ENGINES for the grav drive. Then put it back after you jump. There is actually a mod that lets you hotkey those actions. :D
  14. It should show up like any other POI, might be on the far side of the planet as well.... They won't show up in your Outposts list, unless you have crew stations built there already. (can't assign crew without 'em.)
  15. Having Vlad give you as many temples as he knows where they are, would be great. Having to go visit him for each one is a drag. :D
  16. I am sure we will see something similar to Creation Club...... Beth discovered that's a nice revenue stream, and I don't see MS passing it up.
  17. Plugins.txt isn't officially supported yet. In fact, mods in general are not officially supported yet....... there will likely be a patch for it shortly before the CK releases..... which will probably break a whole bunch of stuff. :D
  18. Some people don't speak English, and others can't speak at all. You sound like one of the many keyboard warriors who are intolerant towards the deaf and mute. Do you get most of your exercise jumping to conclusions?
  19. running it on a machine which costs me more to play it than its worth..... ive bled it dry....I feel let down but, s#*! happens. I played it till I didn't wanna see another s#*! texture again... I can't see it coming back from this, cyberpunk was broke, but it had a soul.....and it made ya come back and back, and let's be fair, it's full of life and personality, star field is like the girl you wanted for years, all ya mates told ya she's a dick but ya want her to be good coz she has everything ya want, and she tells ya good things... only to meet her finally and she turns out to be a liar with cheap make up and could talk a glass eye to sleep... but u wanted her for so long ya ride it out..till your happy its over, and glad ...... mistakes happen haha , ...metaphorically speaking :D its 2023....baldurs gate and Alan wake have just set the bar.... very high... this is coming from someone who loved the first 40 hours coz I was that embarrassed to admit ive had a headache more exciting ....if that's the best they can do, then id call it a day..... no wonder there is no intelligent life!! of all the iconic characters for the clone mission they could of used ..... Presley, frank Sinatra , bonnie Clyde , Neil Armstrong, loads....and they use 3 or 4 that are so forgettable ... I'm no genius, ive never made a game, but ... I could go on for days, coz we got lied too.... not again... id sack everyone , then quit myself if I was Todd and give keys to nexus mods ... anyway.... apart from that... back to Alan wake 2 Lots of words, zero information.
  20. Oooooo. "Official" DLSS support. NVidia owners should be happy about that.
  21. Save corruption has been an issue with Beth games since Morrowind. Qucksaves/autosaves were notorious for being easily corrupted. Best practice was to simply turn them off, and get in the habit of making hard saves REGULARLY. :D And now beth has added exit saves... a feature you CAN'T turn off..... Not sure how reliable those are. Jury is still out. The problem with save corruption is, it won't necessarily manifest itself immediately after it happens... it could be hours, or even days of playtime before you notice things aren't quite right.......
  22. Change the reactor(s)? Trouble with that is, likely every other system on the ship wants an "M" class reactor as well. Once the CK releases though, the "Pilot M class ships" mod will be out shortly thereafter. :D
