  1. Yank the hard drive out of the old pc, install in new pc, transfer the files you need to where they need to be. Done. (and that should work for NMM, etc. as well.) If you don't want to open up the new pc to install the HDD, or, if its a laptop, and there is nowhere to put it, buy an external enclosure, and install the old HDD in that.
  2. Where are you seeing anything that says modders own the work created for CC? I must have missed that memo.
  3. I'll exit this thread here, because again I find myself trying to argue with near-total ignorance. There's only one person I see here doing this, and it isn't Reneer. This is utterly ridiculous. Read this thread from the start and tell us who claimed legal ownership of mods "transfers to Bethesda" as part of the CC. That was the start of my confusion, an entire page was wasted just trying to get straight facts on that single issue. As for your larger point, mine is simply that publishers can make whatever demands they wish in their EULAs, what can be legally demanded in our courts is a proven and rather drastic subset of those demands. Not most but nearly all limitations and restrictions in EULAs that have been legal challenged have failed these challenges. Not all, just almost all. Examples please? We already have examples of EULA's that were upheld.

Of course. I'm also aware that Windows must map the entirety of video memory into its own address space. If you continue your math project, 16 less 12 is 4. A fully buffered 12GB card leaves a grand total of 4GB for the operating system, and ALL programs including your games. Buried deeper than it should be is Nvidia's own spec, which recommends a minimum of 24GB system RAM for the 12GB Titan. Last I checked. That should only become an issue if your vid card runs out of VRAM. Otherwise, it shouldn't need system ram.

You are aware that 16 is greater than 12, right? For 99% of people, a 4 or 6 gig card will be more than adequate to the task for gaming, for several more years yet. Bitcoin miners (like gamers....) want performance, so, they buy the high end cards. In all reality, their investment usually pays for itself in a few short months...... Also notice that RAM is getting stupid expensive as well...... On the other hand....... :) Having the supply of high end cards 'run out', shortly before they release their 'next gen' cards, really isn't a bad marketing strategy either.
  6. Canned air simply does not have the oomph, or the volume, to adequately blow out keyboards.
  7. Does other software work ok? Other games? (games as demanding as skyrim.......)
  8. Erm, Outlook stores everything in a pst file already....... Or are you trying to import TO Outlook?
  9. That's missing textures. Need to figure out which mod they are from, and make sure you have all the assets.
  10. I was playing pen and paper RPGs LONG before Ultima came along. I believe Dungeons and Dragons was the first pen and paper RPG....... And that came out in the 70's...... Long before even personal computers were popular, and WAY before the Internet even existed.
  11. Blow it out with compressed air. (a compressor at about 45PSI is FAR superior to the funky little cans of 'air') Spray it with some variety of cleaner. (409, or something similar) Scrub it with a medium hard scrub brush, both lengthwise, and widthwise. Wipe it down with a towel. Spray it down with air again, to get the last little bits, and dry it out. Looks like a new keyboard when you are done.
  12. There is no "conversion" of anything or anyone. Everything is voluntary: mod authors choose to be in the program and mod users choose to purchase the content. Mod authors can still create both free and Creation Club content at the same time. Everything in the Creation Club has to be "new" content, as in everything in the mod is made from scratch. So mod authors can't simply port mods, models, or anything else that they've already created to the Creation Club.I've commented on the "create everything from scratch" theory in other threads so I won't repeat it here. IMO it's utter nonsense especially for smaller mods, many of which do little or nothing else except modify game variables. How exactly is one supposed to "rewrite" these mods "from scratch"? Also, one and only one best way exists for any given task in any script, to require rewrites is to require code that is something other than optimal. No established difference whatsoever exists between the definitions of "from scratch" and one giant and slightly modified copy/paste function. This entire concept was half-baked imo. Methinks the lists of mod authors who've opted out of the CC, have taken their mods down, and/or have claimed retirement from modding etc are many times longer. There is more than one way to skin a cat, and it's the same with scripts. There is no 'opt out' of CC, you either apply, or you don't. We have no hard numbers on how many have applied, nor do we have hard numbers and how many have not. Granted, I would suspect that the number of 'nots', greatly exceeds the number of 'has'. I don't know of anyone that has quit modding because of CC. I know there are a few that pulled all their mods from beth.net because of it....... And yes, a fair few have retired as well, but, that is simply par for the course. It happens with EVERY game.
  13. Considering that consoles are actually CHEAPER than some of those phones, that really wouldn't surprise me.
  14. Revert back to the version you were using. That is the only solution.
  15. I can't speak for most of the ones who quit, only for the notices I've run into the last 10+ years. As the OP correctly mentioned, and it's who my response was aimed for, quite a few of these people didn't really retire from modding, they simply refused the forced conversion of their hobby into a business. I don't know how many readers of this thread are aware that once money is required for software, it legally and globally obligates the sellers of this software to certain minimum support and other requirements, according to various civil laws. It was a very efficient way to eliminate virtually everyone from the modding scene who was unable or unwilling to make it a financial venture instead of a hobby. Beth instituting creation club in no way obligates modders that are not participants to do anything more than they have been. I also find the 'require to support' statement absolutely laughable. Beth has not bothered to fix one single bug in any of the content they have released on CC, yet folks still buy that crap.
  16. Check the link in my sig. We have tutorials for the Skyrim CS, that walks you thru building a relatively simple house. The idea is, to get you used to working with the CS, and how things work. You can be as basic, or as extravagant as you like.
  17. Trouble is, no one writes closed source software for things like water plants, or treatment plants, energy distribution, etc. You know, those things the government want software for......
  18. Wonder if there was a specific uninstall procedure for that?
  19. I just had a customer come in to work yesterday, to get her Windows 98 laptop going again....... It seems her program for her sewing machine won't run on anything newer, and the manufacturer never bothered to come out with an updated app.... Fair few older CNC machines have the same issue. They need DOS, and DOSBox simply won't cut it. So, they are stuck with truly outdated hardware, because of their older hardware. :)
  20. Check out TESAlliance. (link in my sig) We have some good Papyrus tutorials.
  21. A potential human life. Dealing in absolutes really doesn't do you any favors. I would also point out that the folks having the abortions are generally (75% generally) low income. And there is no form of birth control that is 100% effective, aside from abstinence... but, expecting folks to only have sex when they WANT to make a baby..... well, lets just say that that is unrealistic, to the point of delusional. You think abortion is wrong? Fine, don't have one, but, don't expect everyone to agree with you either, and you CAN expect them to get angry with you when you try and force your beliefs on them.
