Tried uninstalling/reinstalling the VC 2012. (32 and 64 bit....) Nope. Still crashes. So far as I know, I have no mods that should affect this particular bit of the game.

I get thru the conversation with gauge, but, shortly thereafter, the game just closes. Event Viewer says MSVCR110.dll is the problem... Looking online, suggestions are to repair/reinstall VC 2012 from the Steamapps\whatever folder. I ran the repair, and the game went a little bit longer, but still crashed, with the same dll being the problem. I found a thread from years ago, with the same problem, the poster 'fixed' it, but, DID NOT say HOW he fixed it.... Gonna try a reinstall, and see what happens, but, in case that doesn't work, looking for other suggestions.

Not a fan of third person..... I like to absorb myself into the character, and staring over his/her shoulder, doesn't do that for me.

Especially if you use another browser. :) With windows 11, right-clicking on the task bar doesn't always give the option for task manager.... So, ctrl+alt+del brings up the menu, open task manager. If it doesn't have the tabs across the top, click on the 'more info' link at the bottom.... (I think in 11, you don't have to do that.) Go to the startup tab. (in 11, it's icons down the side, hover over them, and they will tell you what they are.) Find Edge, right click on it, and then select "disabled". Edge will still work, should you need it, but, it won't start with windows any more.

Edge will whine, and on a lot of machines, actually is set to start with windows...... That said, edge is just Microsoft Chrome... (as Brave is just someone elses version of chrome....) Chrome is better supported.... That said, I use FireFox, as I don't care for MS, and I don't particularly care for google either. Just a matter of who do you want your browser reporting to. Brave may claim is doesn't send any data, but, that is false. EVERY browser reports back to mama. Just, which mama do you distrust the least. :D

Last Base Change is Horizon... Which strikes me as REALLY odd.....

Well, I would think that if staff says "No, ya can't do that." There won't be any problems....... Of course, Nexus is more concerned about the legal aspect of it all, and I am not sure if any precedent has been set yet.

For the most part, Vortex handles load order pretty good. If you have things like texture mods, with overlap, you would need to address that, to make sure you get the textures you want in-game. (whatever loads last, wins.)

On the plugins page for the game, the DLC should be listed, I don't have options to enable/disable them, however, they do show an index for load order. Do yours? (mine also show as locked, and cannot be managed.)

If you can launch the game directly via the exe, just make a shortcut for it, and run from there. The launcher doesn't do anything special.

Wow. I thought it was gonna be first quarter, or first half.... No huh? Ah well. Here's hoping it is worth the wait. :)

I don't think there is a 'set defaults' button in settings anywhere, and I know you can change the color of various things, but, I think that is a universal change. Owned items would be a specific change, and I suspect you have a mod that is doing it. Installed any new ones lately?

So far as I know, no one has come up with a working version of multiplayer for any of the TES games. Even though they have been attempting it since Morrowind.... The game engine was never designed to support multiplayer, which is one of the reasons no one has ever been able to really accomplish it.

The whole modding thing is one continuous learning experience. :D

Whether his missing the point is due to a deep and abiding lack of reading comprehension, a deliberate attempt to twist my comment into something other than what I said, or just simple stupidity, I know not. The republican party is already moving away from him.... his support keeps evaporating, but, he doesn't notice. Trump and Putin have a fair bit in common...... sorry for the necro but there is a big difference between this two guys. it's not that they act as permanent liar and they think "their people" love them. it is that one of them is an autocrat and the other tried to be one but was not successful. what i do not understand is how 75 % of a nation can believe and even support the slaughter of their neighbor with their own sons? this is ridiculous in 2023 but maybe tradition in the meantime? how can a small group of mighty rich capsuled people really blind their nation as hitler did in 1933 and fill them with lies and known wrong narratives and propaganda, while arguing that all free and democratic nations act like hitler but not russia itself ? what kind logic is that and who believes such nonsense in 2023 ? When those in power control the narrative, and the people only hear what their leaders want them to, well, it isn't too hard to convince them of what is 'right', according to the leaders. Hey, call it like ya see it. So far as I am concerned, it's a war. You have one country invading another, and people on both sides dieing every day. If that ain't a war, I don't know what is. Ukraine is starting to hit targets in Russia though, and the US is rethinking their policy of not wanting Ukraine using US supplied weapons to hit targets over the border. I thought that was a stupid policy to begin with. Unless/Until the Russia people start feeling the pain of this war directly, they will not have any motivation to see it end. Bear in mind, I am NOT advocating targeting civilians. That is just not a good idea.
