It wasn't "fake". They were actually working on a psuedo SKSE64. Just enough functionality for some functions to work. They didn't know though until one of the team members told them.. they they were violating something involving SKSE, so he took it down.

Personally I wondered why he didn't just join the team and help.

It had more than just a bit of functionality. But, I agree that he should have just joined the team.

Ahh, i see

Just a random thought but I think SkyUI actually works in SkyrimSE but the search function and mcm just doesn't work, so we don't actually have to wait until SKSE64 to use SkyUI. Not sure, haven't tried it myself but I've seen others use it.

I've tried it and the game didn't even launch. Remove mod files and game loads right up.

Version 2.1 works. Ignore the SKSE warning. Not all the features of the later version with SKSE, but hey, it's good for now.

Just got this from the Silverlock repository:

"Skyrim Special Edition has been released, and the original SKSE will not work with it. We are currently investigating the application to create a SKSE64 build for the Special Edition. This will not be a fast process. The update to 64-bits means a lot of investigation and changes. Much like the work that has gone into F4SE this will take a tremendous amount of effort. We appreciate your patience while this work continues. We have no timeline for a release. - the SKSE team 29 October 2016"
