  1. Tried running as admin? and re-installing steam?
  2. Takes a lot of hard work . Merged patches, manual patches, constant checking for errors in FNVedit, and all followed up by a good knowledge of your mods. 3. Have a look in FNVedit at the cell, see where it has been changed.
  4. Likely you've modded it and you have a missing master file, broken HUD or improper Archive Invalidation settings. Those are the main culprits.
  5. So you can only launch the game through Steam you say? I'd be looking for where Steam think your directory is and going from there. You say you just changed the directory for it, did you uninstall it first before reinstalling to a new directory, or did you somehow move it to the new directory?
  6. Open FalloutNVLAuncher.exe (yes the Launcher) just once without running the game from it, just simply open and close it, your NV registry keys will be restored and FNVedit will open again. Repeat if you experience this again.
  7. You have to set the game to load Head EGT files, in Fallout.ini and Falloutprefs.ini you should change the following setting: bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1 By default this is 0 change it to 1. Problem solved :) EDIT: You say you've tried this, did you try it in both INI files? Cos this is the fix to the problem I can guarantee you this much, unless you somehow changed all the textures for faces and/or FaceGen data in a mod.
  8. I hope they can push Bethesda in to getting the rights to a another title, I'd like to see them make a better game. I imagine Bethesda probably won't be in any hurry to do this, after all with Fallout 4 patented they wouldn't be looking to have another title in the franchise compete with their own title, and I imagine everyone would be sitting on Obsidians side of the fence hahaha. It will be interesting to see how this develops.
  9. That means you have a broken item in which ever category you are looking in. You would have to look in FNVedit to find out which, at least if you know the category you know where to look. May be more than 1 broken item.
  10. Ah that'll do it :). Glad you were able to resolve your issue.
  11. I'd be expecting a lot of weird things to happen with that LO, see here for a good reference LO to base your own off: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/896684-the-ultimate-load-order-stable-and-perfect/&do=findComment&comment=7183334 Check page 2 or 3 for the update to it.
  12. I probably should of mentioned to you now that you changed your LO around so that the DLCs are in order you need to wait for 4 days in game in order to reset everything that was previously out of order. Also I must say there is no guarantee your save game will be in perfect order since you did have it out of order, it may not be that detrimental to it but it is worth mentioning. BTW have you added any more mods recently.
  13. Could be any number of things from DLCs being in the wrong order to a bad load order or just generally unpatched conflicts with mods, really you'd have to look in FNVedit to find out what your mods are doing. And if you haven't already create a merged patch. Don't be surprised if you end up finding the fix in FNVedit etc and you go into game and it crashes, realistically you need to apply the fix then go into your game and wait 4 days to reset everything because a save can still be affected, and sometimes they are terminally affected and will crash more often then if you started a new game with fixes implemented.
  14. It's not in the most obvious place that's for sure, especially if you're not accustom to Wrye from previous Beth games. Well now y'all know anyway :)
  15. Glad your issue is resolved :). Most likely that file was deliberately modified to exclude that part of the sound, the modder's intentions were more than likely to compensate for the problem with animations I mentioned earlier.
  16. I get what you mean, no wind up sounds. If you just pulled that sound out of the BSA then i'd say this is some weird s*** but if you just got that outta your data/sounds folder then it's modded to not have the wind up sounds. You can check this in FNVedit, under the weapon's data look for the firing sound and see if it has been changed in a mod. It may also be a hardware related/FPS related issue, if your running more than 60fps then it might be going so quick it "skips" the sounds, or if too low fps the same thing. It may not be the case but just to cover everything it's worth mentioning. Or it could be a hardware/audio setting issue which is producing a slight delay, again giving the effect that it is skipping the sound of the winding up of the weapon. It's ahrd to say without actually seeing the game in front of me but those are some things you can look at. If you really get stuck after this, try to post a quick video for further analysis.
  17. If you right click "File" (in the column just above the load order but under the tabs you see) there is the the option to unhide your mods. If you want to troubleshoot mods better without hiding your esps/esms all the time you may want to try "auto-ghosting", tick that in the same context menu where "unhide" is and your mods will ghost when they are inactive so they don't affect the game. Alternatively you can just right click a mod and select ghost but it is better in general to ghost all your mods so that the game doesn't read them anyway. If you don't know what ghosting is all it does is add the extension ".ghost" to any inactive mods. This is great for keeping under the 140 mod "Magic threshold" where the game starts to corrupt everything, as the game does read inactive esps/esms. EDIT: And to confirm just ffs, blove is dead on the money, the folder your looking for is in the steamapps/common folder, called New vegas mods. Not that you will need it if you follow the mentioned methods in Wrye .
  18. DLCs are out of order, they need to be in order of release i,e DM, HH, OWB, LR, GRA and then the preorder pack would like to be in alphabetical order. Perhaps it would be simpler for you to just run the BOSS tool to sort your LO. Find it here: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/35999 You will more than likely find your problem will go away, although once you do sort your LO, I suggest you go somewhere quiet in game and wait 4 days straight, (4x 24hrs). This will reset all the cells and lists and ensure it's running as normal (as can be). I also recommend you look into how to make a merged patch, google FNVedit Training guide for more info on that one.
  19. I wouldn't say this is unusual at my friend, but what does help is a very clean merged patch. Whilst the best method for making one is Wrye, one still has to manually patch their game in order to achieve perfection (well it's never perfect, but perfect is really just a point of view). From experience, I was able to decrease loading times in saves by manually patching my game, which was an effort indeed. However you will always get longer load times from an in game load or death load, due to the previous game having to be unloaded in most cases. It's a problem if it doesn't unload the last game and on occasion, this seems to happen. At a glance also, I see your using many conflicting mods that would definitely require manual patching. And the LO isn't fabulous either. I give you one example offthe bat, if you open up FNVedit and look under Ingestibles in bashed patch, have a look and see how bad PN and IMCN are conflicting. Whilst IMCN will have dominance, your still putting that extra strain on the game. Sometimes sacrifice is in order when there are no dedicated patches available, unless of course you want to get to manually doing it yourself. And that about sums it up. PM me if you need to know more.
